What buyers ask us
Is PVD really waterproof?
The finish is, to a degree ordinary plating is not — it is designed for constant contact with water, salt and sweat. The honest caveat is that stones, glues and stringing in a piece may have their own limits, so we assess the whole design rather than the finish alone.
What colours can you achieve?
Yellow and rose gold tones, black, gunmetal and iridescent finishes. Colour comes from the metal vapour and gas chemistry, so shades are consistent batch to batch — we can match to a reference sample.
Can PVD go over sterling silver?
It is possible but rarely the right call: PVD's advantages are best realised on stainless steel or brass. For silver we would usually recommend vermeil instead, and we will say so at quotation stage.
